CCK-8 allows determination of cell toxicity in a much easier and quicker way than microscopy scoring.

"When your model of choice is a 3D culture, the colorimetric CCK-8 represents a significant gain of time relative to microscopy scoring methods for accessing viability, proliferation or cytotoxicity.

Incubation of HCT-116 and HepG2 spheroids with WST-8 (CCK-8 cell counting kit) for as little as two hours enables reliable measurement of absorbance and the determination of IC50 values and cytotoxicity caused by paclitaxel and staurosporine.
