How to optimise your recombinant protein purification and protein production

19/09/2017 by Isabelle Topin, PhD No Comments

Undoubtedly, producing and purifying a protein is an art form.

Indeed, each recombinant protein (rec. protein) to be produced in vitro has specific characteristics and singularities, which makes its production and purification absolutely challenging. In this post, I’d like to share some tips and review basics for optimizing experimental design when producing functional recombinant proteins and working on protein purification.

Since 2000, tebu-bio provides protein services from production to purification, we can help you further determine the most appropriate strategy by considering all parameters and following experimental requirements.

3D cell culture Biochip – versatile for more physiological applications

15/09/2017 by Frédéric Samazan No Comments

By mimicking in-vivo environments, 3D cell culture models appear nowadays as the best in-vitro study model to work in an in-vivo like study model and to obtain more physiologically relevant data and proof of concept as close as possible to “a clinical context” (aka the “near-human” approach).

Obesity (adipose tissue) and Diabetes – which ELISA tests, arrays and cellular models?

12/09/2017 by Isabelle Nobiron, PhD No Comments

If your research is related to obesity and adipose tissue, you may be interested by the selection I have performed below of immunoassays (including ELISA tests and antibody arrays), as well as primary cell models related to this topic.

Obesity and the diseases arising from it (diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer) constitute a major health challenge to the industrialized world. In the past decade, it has become apparent that adipose tissue is a major endocrine organ which secretes numerous soluble factors and regulates many processes related to glucose homeostasis, lipid and protein metabolism, inflammatory and immune responses…

ADME-Tox: liver fractions with High Aldehyde Oxidase and Xanthine Oxidase Activity

08/09/2017 by Isabelle Nobiron, PhD No Comments

Sekisui XenoTech has just established a method for high Aldehyde Oxidase and Xanthine Oxidase activity in pooled Human liver test systems.

These new test systems (Pooled Human Liver S9 and cytosol) have been prepared from tissue treated to preserve high Aldehyde Oxidase (AO) and Xanthine Oxidase (XO) activity, yet without significantly impacting major cytochrome P450 (CYP) activity.
