PPAR toolbox
Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) are members of the nuclear hormone receptors family.
The PPAR family includes 3 ligand-activated transcription factors: PPAR alpha (NR1C1), PPAR beta/delta (NUC1; NR1C2), and PPAR gamma (NR1C3).
By acting through the retinoid X receptors (RXRs), PPARs play important roles in many critical physiological functions such as regulation of metabolic lipid pathways, glucose metabolism, cell differentiation, proliferation and apoptosis. Recent studies confirmed the involvement of PPARs in various human inflammatory diseases (by moderating expression of genes coding for pro-inflammatory factors).
This makes PPARs pathways attractive targets for promising new therapies in many areas (diabetes, obesity, inflammation, cancer...).
We describe in this section our complete PPAR toolbox. These products make your research studies in this environment easier.
Discover this complete offer by looking at the product selection we made for you (see left part of this page). If your are interested in one on the technologies described here but if you are short of time or hands, tebu-bio laboratories can run the experiments for you. For more information, please look at the Services section or click here.

- Gene expression studies at the protein (antibody) or RNA (microarrays and primer sets) level
- Gene silencing (ready to use siRNAs)
- Screening of PPAR agonists or antagonists from recombinant proteins, ligand binding domains, agonists, antagonists or PPAR ligands to our new and unique cell-based assays available as services for the screening and the characterisation of your coumponds of interest (see bio-reactive volume 6 number 2 or in the "Services" section on the table of content on the left).
