The identification of high-affinity ligands is a useful tool for studying the role of PPAR in mammalian biology. tebu-bio offers a gene reporter technology enabling you to study potential activators of PPARs.


This unique screening system is based on three different stable gene reporter HeLa cell lines expressing either PPAR alpha, beta or gamma downstream of the luciferase reporter gene (see table). This robust technology, under license from INSERM, is a reliable, fast and cost effective reporter gene screening system for PPAR activation.

Charecteristics of receptor cell lines available in our laboratories

Briefly, your compounds to be tested are incubated with the chosen cell line. The PPAR induction capacities of these compounds are measured via detection of luciferase activity. Within a few weeks, you will be given a complete report, including raw data and a classification of each compound relative to positive and negative internal controls.

By using the three cell lines available in our premises, the subtype selectivity of your compounds of interest can be determined after comparison with reference compounds. Your compounds can also be classified as PPAR non-agonists, partial agonist or total agonists. The affinity of promising candidates can also ne assessed with our technology.
