• Constitutively active, in contrast to full length enzymes (no need for 4 aminophenylmercuric acetate treatment)
• 2 sets available:
-collagenases and gelatinases (MMP-1, 2, 8, 9 and 13)
-MMP-3, 7, 10, 11 and 12.
• Full length enzymes are also available as control for zymography or western blot.
