Animal Primary Cells
Rat Hepatocytes (RH)

Rat Hepatocytes (RH) are isolated from adult rat livers. They are cryopreserved at the end of primary cell isolation. The regulatory effect of insulin-like growth factor-11 on hepatocyte function and the apoptotic effect of transforming growth factor-b2 were examined in primary hepatocytes. As liver transplantation tends to cause hypoxia, rat hepatocytes serve as a model in investigating liver pathophysiology3. Rat hepatocytes have been used in a wide variety of clinical experiments such as drug metabolism, toxicology4, and liver tissue engineering.
