Human Primary Cells
Human Umbilical Artery Endothelial Cells (HUAEC)

Human Umbilical Artery Endothelial Cells (HUAEC) are isolated from normal human umbilical arteries. They are cryopreserved at second passage and can be cultured and propagated at least 15 population doublings. Arterial endothelial cells have been used as an in vitro model for the study of morphological and ultrastructural changes in the development of atherosclerosis1. The HUAEC system has also been used for the study of endothelial cell-dependent lymphocyte activation .and chemoattractant activity2,3.

Characterization: Positive for Factor VIII-related antigen expression. Positive for Factor VIII-related Dil-Ac-LDL uptake.

Each lot is tested negative for HIV, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and negative for mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast and fungi.
