Human Primary Cells
Human Follicle Outer Root Sheath Cells (HORSC)
Human Follicle Outer Root Sheath Cells (HORSC) are primary cells isolated from the outer root sheath of the hair follicle and are cryopreserved at third passage. HORSC can be propagated at least 4 doublings. Outer root sheath cells can be cultured in vitro to form epidermal equivalents1, and can be used for autologous grafting2. Furthermore, HORSC are reported to support stem cells in the bulge region of the outer sheath3. These bulge cells are mutlipotent, critical for the self-renewal of hair follicles3, and also have the capacity to regenerate sebaceous glands and epidermis4.

Each lot tested negative for HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C and negative for mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast, fungi.
