What is RSS?

RSS is the solution to keep up to date with the information you want. When you notice an interesting page on a website with an RSS logo, you can simply subscribe to it, and add it to your RSS feeds. Then every day you can have a quick overview of all your subscriptions without having to visit all the websites one by one.

How can I use it?

There are several ways to use RSS. First you must find a page offering this feature. On the tebu-bio website, news is available in RSS. You will see the RSS logo on the homepage. If you click on it, you will see an almost unreadable page. According to which RSS software you are using, there are several solutions. The usual one is to copy/paste the address of this RSS page into your software. Other software such as the Firefox browser can also bookmark this page and place it into a special bookmarks folder. You can also install extensions in Firefox to handle RSS feeds.

Which software can I use to manage my RSS feeds?

There are several solutions. You can use your webbrowser if you want. Please note that Internet Explorer is not yet compatible with RSS without adding extensions. Modern browsers like Firefox, Opera or Safari can handle RSS feeds. Please have a look at the documentation to discover how.

You can also use your email software. This is probably of one the most convenient ways to handle RSS, as they will appear like unread emails in a special folder. Once again, please use a modern email client to be able to read RSS. Outlook and Outlook Express don't offer this feature. The free email client Thunderbird is typically a very easy to way to subscribe to RSS content.

You can also add your RSS feeds to your customised homepage on websites such as Google, or Yahoo. Please refer to their online documentation to discover how to do it.

Finally, you can also use dedicated software to subscribe to your preferred RSS feeds. All platforms (Windows, Mac OS, Linux) offer dozens of RSS software packages.
